Summary | Annual event to visit Europe in June, I chose Croatia and Montenegro this
year. I planed to go to Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes National park, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik by bus. After that, Kotor Montenegro not far from Dubrovnik. |
Itinerary | I booked the Singapore Airlines from Kansai to Zagreb via Singapore and
Frankfurt on the way there. One night in Zagreb, visiting the Plitvice Lakes National Park and moving Zadar. One night in Zadar, moving Split by bus, going around in Split in the afternoon. One night in Split, moving Dubrovnik by bus, going around in Dubrovnik in the afternoon and next morning. Then heading to Kotor, Montenegro. And staing one night in Kotor. Going around Kotor one day. I returned to Dubrovnik next early morning. Changing the bus bound for the airport at bus terminal. Returning to Zagreb and staying one night. I headed to the airport in early morning. I came back to Kansai from Zagreb via Munich and Singapore. |
To Zagreb |
I was not able to find plane bound for Frankfurt on timetable, actually it was bound for New York via Frankfurt. | ||
I booked an apartment hotel in Zagreb near the bus terminl . There are more apartment hotels these days which have no front desk, so WhatsApp is essential. It was National Holiday when I arrived in Zagreb, all supermarkets were closed and open at night. |
Plitvice Lakes |
I booked a ticket for the Plitvice Lakes National park entrance 1, 9AM
online, because it is popular and crowded. I came to the bus terminat past 6AM, and displayed No.109 on the timetable around 6:15. I have waited at No.109, but no bus came. There is no staff as early morning. I asked someone after a while, it might be the platform was changed from 109. I had no choice but to get next bus at 8AM. |
To Zadar | The bus departing in National Park at 16:20 which booked in advance. One
night in Zadar. I went around in Zadar for 2 or 3 hours in the morning, since the bus bound for Split departs 1PM. |
To Split | Moving from Zadar to Split by bus. I went through the city center of Split and went around after check in. |
To Dubrovnik |
I moved from Split to Dubrovnik by bus and got on a local bus at the terminal. I went to the old town in the afternoon after checked in the hotel. I have booked the Dubrovnik Pass in advance online. It costs €40 same as fee of the City Wall. |
I left my lugguage in the hotel and went around the City Wall and old town,
as it was almost 3PM. I needed to come back the hotel around noon, cosidering the departure time of the bus boud for Kotor. I tried to go the City Wall again, but they said only once by the Dubrobnik Pass. So I went around the old town, and then went to the Lovrjenac Fort. After that, I headed the Mt.Srdj. I thought the summit is too high for my wide lens. So I tried to climb the cross. However there were many bothering trees in the path. I gave up the Cross Ⅳ and turned back. I found better place for photos on the way back near the city center. |
To Kotor | I got on the bus bound for Kotor at the Dubrovnik terminal, and arrived
there in the evening. I went around the old town of Kotor and the Old Kotor Fort Trail next day. |
|
Way to home | I got on the bus bound for Dubrovnik next early morning. The Dubrovnik Airport locats on the way to Dubrovnik city. There is no bus to stop the airport, we need to go the Dubrovnik terminal and chane buses. Montenegro do not join the Shengen Agreement, so we need to get off the bused and passport control at the border. I lost the bus I booked beforehand, then I took a next bus bound for the airport. One night in Zagreb, no sight seeing just grocery shopping, as I need to get up eartly next morning. |
