| Summary | I was able to go to Maldives I have been dreaming to visit. Though I obtained Open Water Certification prevous summer, we might not be able to go good site just O.W Certification. So I got Advanced Open Water Certification in fall immediately. Then getting the experience of first time abroad in Philippines. I chose the Biyadhoo Island where I was able to enjoy diving since the luxury resort was expensive. There was no package tour including dives in Maldive resort. So I booked the package tour just with air ticket and acommodation. |

| Itinerary | Departure at the Narita Airport around noon by the Srilankan Airlines. Arrival the Male Airport via the Colombo Airport, moving to the Biyadhoo Island at night by boat. We are not required to reserve diving beforehand, so we are able to dive whenever we like: number of dives and date. Because the flight was evening, I was not able to dive. I walked around the island after checking out and calculating payment. Then I was taken to the airport by boadt. Reterning back home on the way back same as the way there. |

The airplane was almost full for Philippines one month ago, because it
might be new year holidays. The international flight was a few people in it, as the September 11 attacks a few months before. |

| Accident | ||||||
| After finishing the resort reception counter outside of the airport. Moving to the port about six or so, I asked them to wait there while I was in a restroom. Then I came back there, I saw my luggage was pulled by someone and I followed them. After 15 minites from the port, the boat arrived a island and some people got off. More 15 minites later, all passenger left on the boat got off in another island. I looked up in advance that it takes one hour or less from Hulhule to Biyadhoo by boat. I had no choice but I got off the boat. There was no luggage of mine. I didn't know what I should do. Then Japanese lady who has worked the resort asked me. I tried to tell her the accident happened in the Hulhule port. She told me the resort is the Banyan Tree and the other is the Angsana Ihuru. I foud out that I mistook a luggage of other's for mine. Then I got on the wrong boat. I took a emergency contact to the travel agency, and asked to handle this problem. There were some people who were going to back Male, so I came back with them. And I stayed one night at the Hulhule Island Hotel . I got on the boat for Biyadhoo with someone who arrived the Male airport in next morning |

| Biyadhoo | The resort has less than 100 rooms, and it takes 20 or 30 minites around
the island on foot. Boat diving was held once in the morning and once in the afternoon. In addition to that, we are able to dive in house reef and go snorkeling. I took photos in the island while I didn't go diving. I chose full board in that time: buffet for breakfast and lunch, course meal for dinner. There were free shuttle boats between Biyadhoo and Villingillivaru near by that was run same as Biyadhoo. |

| Check Dive |
Arrival day was delayed by accident, so I applyed for diving in the afternoon. Since I have dived just 25 tanks, check dive was held completely:. For example, mask clear: put it off and put it on then blew water outside of the mask.. I had just blown out water which was flooded into crack in the O.W. course. |

| Excursion | Though I was able to go fun diving next day after finishing check dive
. There was a full day excursion which was held once a week next day. I prefered the full day excursion to fun diving for next day I planed to start fun diving the day after tomorrow. |

| Details | At first, heading to the local island: Guraidoo Island. The island had
souvenir shops, wandering there about one hour. Next, we landed a desert island, then had BBQ lunch in the sand bank. We visited another resort in the afternoon: Fihalhohi Island Resort located west side of the South Make Atoll. |

| Fan Diving | Fun divers were separated over or less than 50 tanks done. So I was not able to dive in the Guraidoo corner and so on whick I have dived four years later. There were three Japanes women instructors in the dive center, about half number of guests were Japanes. |

| First buddy dive |
After finishing afternoon dive on fiveth day, I was asked to go buddy dive
in the shore of the island. There was a Japanes pair looked like youg lady and her mother who took unlimited dive package. Then the daughter was too tired to go next shore dive, but her mother was energetic. So the mother asked me to go shore dive with her. My firdt experence of buddy dive. |

| English again | Though I majored in English when I was university student. But I have not
been useing English over 20 years . Diving guides speak their mother tongue and English next. The accident of this time and to see German, Italian, French and so speaks English together afterward started to make me to study English again. |
