Sept. 2021 Amami Oshima Island and Okinoerabu Island

Summary  Though giving up to visit the Tarama Island,
I have been almost of all islands in Okinawa except the Daito Islands.
I planed to vist the Amami Oshima Island and the Okinoerabu Island located Kagoshima prefecture.
Those island situate next to Okinawa and it was in September, sea temperature must be not cold.
Itinerary There is a direct flight from the Kansai Airport to the Amami Airport by the Peach Aviation.
As the arrival time in Amami is before noon, so I am able to go around the island.
Diving all day on next day, then moving to the Okinoerabu Island the day after by ferry.
Two days diving in the Okinoerabu Island, sightseeing on arrival day afternoon and on departure day morning.
I compared to go to Naha and to return to Amami on the way back by ferry.
But I was not able to choose going Naha, because the ferry schedule was not daily but every other day.
So I have to go back to the Amami Island, and stayed one night there,
then I getting back home next morning flight.
To the Island There was a rainbow when the airplane landed, and puddle on the runway.
A bus was waiting to depart when I left the airport.
The bus took me the busstop in front of the hotel in a little less than an hour.
Though it was about 11am, fortunately I was able to check in.
Then I left my luggage in the room, got on a bus immediately.
In the island The island is large and has many mountains and hills, so roads must be steep.
I guessed it was impossible to take a bicycle or motor bike. So I choosed buses as means of getting around.
I prefered the Kurasaki Beach and East Coast to other tourist attractions.
To the Akaogi post office bus stop by bus, and taking walk to the Kurasaki Beach, next East Coast.
I headed to the Kurasaki Beach, but I was not able to find it because there was no direction sign.
Then I returned to the bus stop and took a bus to the East Coast bus stop.
Also no direction sign there, I walked around the beach.
I found like a puddle on the beach, it was problely called "Heart Rock".
Fortunately the weather was getting in the afternoon.

To Okinoerabu Island  The ferry departure to the Okinoerabu Island is early morning and arrival from the island is night time.
I selected the Amami Port Tower Hotel as it situated not Naze downtown but near the Naze Port.
I waked up at 4 am, packed equipment I had dried last night. Heading to the ferry terminal at 5 am.
What a long stairways from bridge to boarding gate. It took about six hours to the Okinoerabu Island.

I was able to check in even though before noon. I left my luggage in the room.
Next I tried to rent a bike, but all bike were already rented. I had no choice but to rent a bicycle.
It was hard to go around the island by bicycle, so just north part.

Last day in the island  I booked a rental bike in the morning of departure day,
since I was not able to rent a bike in the afternoo of arrival day.
I guessed a half day meaned four hours, but I needed to return it by noon.
Selecting Shoryoudo Cavern, Cape Tamina and Hanzaki.
I could find theShoryodo Cavern easily, but Cape Tamina was so hard to reach.
Though there were some direction sign to Cape Tamina, they didn't lead me there.
Then I almost gave up to get Cape Tamina, I found out a direction sign to there for 1.7Km.
However finally I reached there, it was around 11 am.
I needed to return to the town, it meant to give up to go Hanzaki.
I decided to get back by main roads because it was one hour left.
Likely short-cut roads must make me get lost. "Haste makes waste"

To Amami Island  After I returned the bike, I headed to the port rather earlier.
Someone told me in front of a building on the way to the port.
He said the port was changed from the Wadomari Port to the Inabe port due to high waves.
Passengers have to move another port by themself. I had no choice but to take a taxi.
The only good thing about it is that at least it costed just a thousand yen.

Getting Back   I came back to the Naze Port, Amami Island past 8pm. Then walked to the hotel in a few minite.
After one night stay, I moved to the Amami Airport by bus in the morning.
There were some commuter airplanes in the airport.
I got on the airplane in the morning, and came back to the Kansai Airport around noon.
